I love fall weekends. Fall means crisp Indian summer days, sharp blue skies, warm penetrating sunshine, beautiful foliage, hot soups, apple pie with cheddar cheese, and football. This past weekend we planned to go to New Jersey to watch nephew Murphy McCurdy (Joe andKathy's youngest) play football so Saturday we slogged our way through the downpour even though the game was postponed until the following day (the mid-field was underwater).
Sunday dawned bright, sunny, breezy and cold, a perfect day for football. And on a day such as this, everything looks great. Delbarton is a beautiful school, set on a hill surrounded by acres and acres of fields and woods.
An hour and a half before the game the special teams march to the field for warm up.

Proud Papa Joe
Proud Uncle John
John demonstrates the one-handed snap.
By the way...did I mention it rained buckets the day before? Yes...I slipped.
Jay Mahoney, Murph's godfather, came down for the game.
Michael and Sophia were also there.
Did I mention Murphy plays wide receiver, defensive safety, 2nd-string quarterback when necessary and takes the snap?
It was a great weekend. Delbarton won so we'll be looking forward to the playoffs.
